Today's video is a combination of two videos that I have had for a while. Part 1 of the video is a look into the world os Smithing (or crafting to WoW players). The players pulls out an anvil and starts to smith right their and then!
Part 2 of the video is of an escort quest which is sliced with some cut scenes.
Also just to let you all know that even though it's still some months yet, I am statring to organise a FFXIV Linkshell (or Guild to WoW players!) on the forum. Check it out here: http://myffxivjourney.freeforums.org/final-fantasy-xiv-linkshell-t19.html

Where's the updates?
Sorry about the lack of updates this week. I have about 4 new videos to post but I have had a bit of a dodgy internet connection.
I think it's sorted now, and I'll do a double video tonight to make up for it!

The Twelve do not allow it!
One of the best lines from the Alpha tester manual was:
Q: Why can’t I fight barehanded?
A: Because the Twelve do not wish it. Eorzean adventurers must have a weapon or tool equipped at all times.
So who are the Twelve? What do they do? Well todays update should answer many of those questions.

I'll have the Kaboob with large chips and a cola.
Sorry I have not posted much this week, I have been revising for my driving theory test which I passed yesterday. Anyway today I have some screens of food shopping in FFXIV.
A few things strike me when I look at these screens.
1) There is no where in the item descriton of the effects of the food items.
2) Thats a lot of Gill the player has.
3) The player also has quite a lot of bag space, which is nice!

Final Fantasy XI - Looking back
Back in 2006/2007 I used to do a blog to track my journey through FFXI, but I deleted it a few months after I stopped playing.
I was thinking about it over the weekend and I thought it was a shame that it was gone because I would of liked to look back at it now. Then I found a few old posts on some FFXI forums and I found pictures that were publish on my FFXI blog so I guess that somewhere they were still online.I have found them and also have found a few of my claims to FFXI fame!
Claim to fame 1: The lowest level player to solo Orna the NM.
Claim to fame 2: The player who wrote the tactics for the Chocobo Hot and Cold game.
I posted a screen on my blog showing the moment I wrote the tactics on the FFXI Wiki on how to win at the Chocobo hot and cold game. They are still there today ( http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/The_Chocobo_Hot_and_Cold_Game#Tactics ).
OK, now some screens of my journey through Vana'diel.
1) There's me, Onlytripleseven, in my Mog house with my New Year quest prize
2) This is a picture of my Link Shell at Christmas 2006. I'm not in the group becuase I took the picture.
3) Victory at a BCNM 40!
4) My adventure partner Dayo and my prized blue Chocobo.
5) Last but not least, you have to have a sense of humour in FFXI!

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work we go...
OK, this is a new video that will help you understand how mining on FFXIV works. In the below video the player is on a quest that requires him to gather mined items.
Mining is done through a skill based menu. Once you start to attempt to mine a circle will appear on the screen. An inner ring grows from the centre of the circle and with a timed button press you stop the growth of the ring. It looks like you want to get the inner ring as large as you can without it growing bigger than the circle.
After the first attempt the inner ring shrinks a little, then the next attempt repeats the process but uses the shrunken ring as the maximum area the next ring can occupy.

Video Reboot on it's way.
Oh dear, looks like some of my FFXIV videos have been taken down from youtube, although not all of them though. I'll get it sorted tonight.
Yargh! Pirates!
Everyone dreams of one day being a pirate, and it looks like FFXIV is going to go a long way in helping make those dreams become a virtual reality. Check out the latest video below which is done in the now standard 1080p.
Also it's nice to see people using the forum I created, I hope you all like it and enjoy speaking to each other.
I am going to use a part of the forum to keep all the videos and screens I have posted all in one place.
Also thanks to Kyle for the generous donation and also thanks to everyone who has been supporting this site through the adverts. Thanks everyone!

New forum for this blog!
Here: http://myffxivjourney.freeforums.org/
There is a lot of users that come here so I think a forum might be a cool thing to add. Check it out, create a user name and post away!
I'll see you there.

An insight into Alpha testing - READ POST BEFORE LOOKING AT THE PICTURES
OK, today's post is a little bit different. Like Thursdays music video, today I'm looking to do something new on this blog.
The following are screens from the FFXIV Alpha testing forum, where the testers post comments on what they thought about the game.
IMPORTANT: You will read through these posts from the forum and many will be people having problems with the game and offering suggestions. This is normal for an Alpha test in case you did not know. The reason the game is in Alpha test stage at the moment is so that all the bugs and issues and be fixed before the public get to see the game. So don't read this and think that FFXIV is going to be bugged and broken. It will not, because these guys and girls are testing it so Square-Enix can give us all the best experience later this year.
With that in mind, here is the kind of thing the testers have gone through:
